As most of you know I enjoy planning. I use planning for functionality and productivity. Having a family requires me to plan which helps me coupon in order to budget and save money. However, I enjoy journaling quite a bit as my creative outlet. It’s not always fun to plan, I also need my creativity too in order to de stress and be myself.
You can check out my My Planner System 2019 to see what I use to plan for 2019.
Lately, I have been in LOVE with using my B6 staology to journal in. The paper quality is amazing and there’s plenty of room to get your thoughts down. I purchase mine on Amazon and I grab a new one when I’m finished and store them in my desk for memory keeping. You can find the link down below.
Being apart of the planner community.
I do tend to get bored while journaling. I think all of us planner girls do. Journaling for several years can become dreary and boring, even if you love it with a passion. However, this is why I love being apart of the planner community because of the constant creative postings that I use for inspiration. The ideas are unique and there’s so much love and support in the community, so it’s a great place to be if you love planning and writing. Following hashtags on Instagram is how I keep up with the latest creative posts. I follow hashtags such as #b6staology, #plannercommunity, and #happyplannersisters to get more ideas for my planning and journaling.
Feeling creative and free.
Whenever I journal I like to feel creatively free as I do so. For so many years I used to just write entry after entry. Although this is entertaining to read and flip back through, I quit journaling various times. The gap between time periods was getting to be more than a few months. Here’s why I felt inclined to just recount the events that transpired during my day only: there was no creative freedom. What I then did was started using a page a day to write as I pleased (another creative idea that’s all over the planner community).
Ideas on creative journaling.
This could be an image I print off my phone (which feels so good to finally print some photos from my phone instead of hoarding them). The best part about the staology is that there is actually a faint timed schedule off to the left side of each page for all the days of the year. In the staology there’s also a place at the top of every single page to circle the date. Sometimes I don’t feel like using my planner especially on a non work related day but I still have a to-do list that weekday or that weekend. The staology is where I end up writing it down. Also I’ll write my weekly menu, an outline for a blog post, a beautiful inspirational quote, or tape down a drawing my daughter drew for me that day.
The staology has endless creative opportunities for an entire year and the paper is designed for that purpose. It’s paper can hold being highlighted without tearing as easily. I do see some people online paint on the staology. For the most part I don’t paint, but I highlight with my favorite highlighters. I bought these off Amazon too and my kids enjoy using them. I love the variety of the colors, some are actually pastel (my favorites). You can find a link to those down below.
I hope you enjoyed this post and it helped your creative needs for a journal! I enjoy these products and I love using them!
Till next time,
