Today’s Saturday Coffee Break Topic:
It’s Tough Being a SAHM..
I’ve decided to keep one day of the week for myself on my website. Usually I post twice a week on Wednesday’s and Saturday’s. Part of the reason my husband and I wanted me to have my own website was for one main thing, to LET ME BLOG! I love writing and I want my own space to express myself so I’ve come up with Saturday Coffee Break, every Saturday where I’ll just write whatever I want to talk about.
Who’s ready for Spring Break? I know I am. This morning routine of taking my kiddo to school daily is tiring me out. Is the year almost over? This momma is tired. Always running on coffee and super tired!
New Routine in our household
We’ve started up a new routine in our household. It’s pretty basic, I’m sure every family does this. My husband’s work schedule varies so much it’s been hard to implement this but we finally buckled down and made this part of our everyday routine. I hope I’m not the only one here BUT we were relying too much on takeout this past month.
We have gained a few pounds and spent too much money. However, I took up couponing again and I am very pleased to say we have already begun saving money! Actually I’ve been cooking dinner minimally 5 times a week. I AM TIRED! I mean making each meal with love is exhausting. If I don’t care about the food I make it just doesn’t come out good.
Anyways, I’ve been preparing dinner every single weekday and we say our prayers before diving into a good homecooked meal. This makes me feel like I’m doing something right. My kiddo loves chatting with us about her day and we end the night off with a family game or maybe a movie.
Looking forward to break though.
It’s been FUN! However, it’s been TIRING. I can’t lie I got used to takeout (we don’t eat from completely unhealthy places). How easy and convenient is it to just serve an already made plate of warm food?! Super easy. Most importantly I loved the no cooking break. On top of taking care of my toddler and homework help for my oldest, I welcomed not cooking!
Don’t even get me STARTED on the household chores. Routine, routine, routine! Honestly it was getting to be too much. I am looking forward to summer break! I can sleep in at least another hour and we can stay up later too! Also we have fun things planned for break.
Family dinners are fun!
I’m really happy we do family dinners though. Call me corny but I look forward to happy faces after eating a meal I make! But, if you’re a tired stay at home mom, I’m there with ya! I know you need a break and so do I! However, I actually need a girl’s dinner out soon too.
What are some of your favorite family routines? Any good ideas for any new ones? Do you have any or none at the moment? Let me know in the comments below! I hope your coffee isn’t too cold after reading this! Have a great Saturday <3
