You’ve come to the right place. I enjoy making new year’s resolutions because it really helps put everything into perspective.
You get a chance to work on and better yourself. Here are my last year’s new year’s resolutions for 2020.
Resolutions are almost like goals you’re setting for yourself. It’s neat to make them at the start of the new year to give off the whole, new me vibes entering the new year.
What my family and I love to do is to get 12 grapes and do the countdown for the new year. Then, we eat each grape right before the clock strikes midnight.

New year’s resolutions are easy to start and hard to follow through with!
Ever made those new year’s resolutions and completely forgot about them in February? You’re not the only one who does that, friend.
This is why I don’t just think of these resolutions as new year’s resolutions. I think of them as many ways of bettering myself all throughout the year.
This takes away any pressure I may feel to hurry up and complete them. Don’t forget to list them and write them down in your journal, so you don’t forget them.
- Stay positive even when things aren’t going well for you.
It can be hard to stay positive and look at the bright side of things sometimes. I know all too well about this.

- Start your morning off with a glass of water before you drink any caffeine.
I’ve already started this one in December! True story, I really wasn’t feeling too well.
I always felt thirsty before, during, and after my caffeine! That’s not normal for me.
Well, duh I wasn’t drinking enough water. So, I started putting a glass of water on my nightstand so I can drink some at night and as soon as I woke up.
It’s made a huge difference in my life. My whole digestive system feels better and I get fewer headaches.
Make sure to grab yourself a water bottle to do this!
More new year’s resolutions.
- Remain consistent with your goals.
It’s hard to be consistent! I know this all too well.
Try your hardest to be consistent. A lot of people I know make vision boards in order to set their eyes on the prize.
- Focus on what matters most.
Once you focus on what matters most to you in your life, things start getting a whole lot easier. Do yourself a favor and make a list of what matters most to you in your life.
Then, you’ll know what to prioritize first in your life. Sometimes, simplifying is so worth it.
- Spend more time with family and hearing out family members.
This is one I need to work on! Sometimes, life makes us busy and hectic.
We feel as though we just don’t have the time for family. Schedule some family bonding time into your busy schedule!
- Doing something kind without being asked to help someone out.
- Manage your time wisely.
Time management is essential to accomplishing your goals in life. Make sure to have your planner system ready to go.
Even more new year’s resolutions.
- Create time blocks to get things done easier.

Set timers and alarms, anything to get your time blocks done. Time blocks have changed my life and I started this too just barely in December.
My goal is to keep up with it throughout this year in 2021.
- Cut toxic people out of your life for good.
- Attempt to get out of debt and not get into any more debt than already in.
- Save money.
- Budget money wisely every month.
- Make healthier eating choices.
- Cook healthier foods.
- More social media detox.
Social media detox is something I have BARELY started to do. Mostly because I couldn’t handle any more social media since most of it is my work!
I like to turn off my phone or just charge it during the day to not be able to grab it! Social media is super addicting and it’s healthy to have breaks.
- Limit screen time.
- Do more of what makes you happy.
For me, this would include crafting! I miss crafting and working on my planner setups.
Recently, I decided to get a planner subscription box to conveniently keep up with my hobby. You should do the same if you’re a busy bee!
More new year’s resolutions with a purpose.
- Volunteer and helps others out more often.
- Donate to charity and make it a habit to help others out.
- Be more patient with others.
- Listen more instead of speaking all the time.
- Make a list of things you want to do and have been waiting for. Get them done !!
This is more of a bucket list idea. For me, I have so much I’ve been wanting to do that has been on hold.
Slowly, I have been working on accomplishing one by one off my list. Also, I’ve been practicing feeling grateful and taking the time to appreciate the moments when I accomplish something.
Learn to be patient and feel grateful when you reach a goal or cross something off of your bucket list. Don’t forget that God is good.
- Practice being more grateful.
This is a resolution we all need to work on! God is good and he blesses us with so much.
It’s important to remain grateful and humble. God helped us get to where we are today.
- Read the Bible and thank God more daily.
The last of the 30 new year’s resolutions.
- Make a cleaning schedule and stick to it.
- Make cleaning a priority and picking up after yourself throughout the day.
- Spend less on takeout.
You’d be surprised at how much money goes when you buy takeout. Do yourself a favor and invest in a crockpot.
Spending money on crockpot recipes is pretty cheap. You will even have enough for leftovers.
Plus it’s healthier for you!
- Set a budget for your personal self- keep track as to not overspend but still be able to treat yourself.
I used to always say to save money and buy yourself cheap stuff. That’s before I started working so much on my blog and homeschooling my kids.
That’s when I quickly realized I deserve to treat myself occasionally too! Don’t forget that you matter too.
- Make self-care routine a daily priority.
- Take 5 minutes a day to say your positive affirmations to yourself.
