How to be a good wife tips.
- Always keep God first in your marriage, even when times are good.
Keeping God first in your marriage is so important! I cannot stress this enough.
God loves you and your spouse so much and wants to bless your marriage each and every day.
Keeping God first is something you two should have in common.
You can keep God first in your marriage by praying together nightly. Make some time for prayer.
Praying to God together can only bring you much closer. You share your most intimate thoughts with the Lord and your husband will be able to hear them firsthand.
That’s you trusting him to listen in on your private prayers with the Lord. And he’s trusting you the same, by praying with you.
Have this amazing Bible handy at all times, so that if you have a question you can refer to it for an answer.
It really helps when you have a Devotional that you can relate your life to.
Praying together can help strengthen your marriage.
Praying together can help your marriage feel like it’s on a solid foundation again, even if it’s currently shaky.
I can’t tell you how much praying together has helped my husband and me throughout the years.
Whenever we pray together at night, our sleep is much more peaceful.
Not only am I feeling lighter with less stress because I’ve shared your troubles with the Lord, but I’m connecting with my husband.
I always feel much closer to him when we pray and like we’re on the same page. The intimacy is deep when I feel like we are both in the same place with our faith and life.
Praying together nightly is one of our favorite parts of being married to each other. It creates a bond between us.
There’s just something beautiful about being able to pray together and pour our hearts out to God. I always write down my prayers in my bullet journal planner.
This planner system allows me to change up whatever I want to plan monthly.
I like to include my prayers in there if nothing is written in there.

- Be supportive and less critical.
I know, easier said than done. However, it’s not as difficult as it seems.
Sometimes, you need to push your ego to the side in order to make plenty of space for your husband’s needs and wants.
He should be doing the same and you should be feeling the love and support too.
Marriage isn’t a one-way street.
Marriage is a give and take, not just “take, take, take.” It’s so important to be the cheerful face your husband comes home to.
You can become a more supportive wife by being the first to give him a huge hug and kiss, just to remind him that he is on your mind while he’s at work.
When there’s something going wrong in his day, you want to be the first person he thinks to call because he wants to talk to you.
He’s looking for your support.
Try to be less judgy and more lovey!
With two kids, homework, and dinner to make, when my husband gets home it’s very chaotic.
However, even though sometimes I want to just solely focus on the tasks I have at hand, I make myself pay attention to my husband’s day.
Even though it took a lot of practice to be able to multi-task and not feel overwhelmed, I actually look forward to hearing everything about his day.
Take the time to hear him out.
My husband values my opinion, and I notice he takes note of any advice I give him.
I’m happy to help, but I make myself focus as to not give bad advice.
I like for him to come back for my advice, not run away from it. Make sure you’re paying attention when you’re giving him your input.
Your word is valuable to your spouse. Try reading this really great book on marriage so you learn more about hearing out your husband and his needs.
If you need more tips on your marriage, you’ll be surprised to find a lot of them already in the Bible.
Make sure you’re reading up on marriage and learn more about helping your marriage.
Creating memories helps you be a good wife.
- Think of creating new and exciting memories together.
Days can become long and tedious when you’ve been married for a long time. Switch things up!
Try something new by thinking of different places to travel to. Try out camping and hiking if you haven’t already.
My husband and I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, and spending time at the beach. We love these outdoor chairs to sit down and really enjoy the sunshine.
Also, traveling to a new city together is always fun! Exploring new places and sightseeing is a romantic way to change the scenery around you.
If you haven’t already, you can check out your favorite sports team and go see a game together.
The outdoor experience can enrich your lives rather than just watching it on television at home.
You can spoil your man by picking a location you know he’s been wanting to go to for so long!
It will mean the world to him if you just put some thought behind your effort. Trust me.
My husband is quite the adventurer and we have a huge list of places to get to. Let him pick and choose.
Spoil him with your unconditional love. Besides, he may end up picking a place you really will love and you’ll create the best memories there.
Don’t underestimate your husband. I know us, wives like to be the ones in charge, but letting your husband lead is not a bad thing.

- Get dressed up for your spouse.
Yes, you read that right! Just because you’re married doesn’t mean you have to be in your comfortable sweats all day long!
Try shopping for some new outfits and focus on helping yourself feel good. Now, I’m not saying to fix yourself up for him daily.
We’re all tired and busy, with our things to do. That’s not what I’m saying at all.
Let me clarify when you two were just dating you’d take your time getting ready.
This doesn’t have to change just because you are married.
Who knows, he may really take notice and compliment you, appreciating your effort. Also, I recommend trying to do your hair and makeup daily.
I don’t do my hair and makeup seven days a week, but I try to at least four. Not only are you looking beautiful to him, but you’re feeling good about yourself too.
These are the must-have makeup essentials I pretty much use all of the time.
Even though it’s mostly natural, I feel like that’s the prettier look.
Being a good wife means taking care of yourself.
- Stay in shape to look and feel good about yourself.
This confidence will reflect back to your spouse and he’ll appreciate it. If you aren’t able to go to the gym, try at-home workouts.
Also staying fit and in shape is better for your health and your mental well-being. Eating healthy is smart too and good for both of you.
Don’t forget to try working out together and eating healthy together. Quality time matters most.
In addition, looking the best for EACH OTHER is key in a marriage.
Not only are you showing each other you care by trying to remain attractive to each other, but you are also helping boost your self-confidence.
A confident spouse is always a good thing. Look, my husband has seen me on my worst days and my best days.
However, I don’t want to stop trying to impress him. Why?
Because it makes me feel good too, knowing he’s attracted to me.
The last of my how to be a good wife tips.
Yes, we’re married and all but I still want to look my best for him.
Exhausted is an understatement. Still, I know how hard he works too.
I’m talking about hours and hours of work! So, I do appreciate him too, and love him.
Wanting to look good for your man is nothing to feel ashamed of, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. (I know this is an unpopular opinion).
What does it take to be a good wife?
Like I always say, marriage requires hard work. The duties of a good wife seem like they are never-ending, to be honest.
You want to make sure you’re his number one person to talk to when he’s having a problem, not to mention you also want to keep the romance going all marriage long.
But, isn’t that what he wants to?
He should if he’s being a good husband. Don’t forget: he needs to reciprocate the same effort right back to you.
He needs to be compassionate and understanding. He needs to do all these tips too!
Like I said previously, marriage isn’t a one-way street.
I have noticed the more I listen to my husband and the more I give him advice, he helps me with my problems too.
He lets me vent and share my frustrations and gives me the kindest attention and advice.
That’s exactly what I have always wanted, yet it wasn’t always like this.
This type of commitment and dedication came with years and years of working at it.
He needs to be a good husband too.
Being a good wife means taking care of your husband, making sure he’s happy, and taking care of yourself while you’re at it too. The duties of a good wife are don’t stop.
Neither do the duties of a good husband. However, this post was to focus on how to be a good wife in my Christian beliefs.
