Easter is a very important holiday in our household, because it’s when Jesus was resurrected! In our family, we make sure to tell our children all about Easter and why it’s so important.

Our family enjoys celebrating Easter, we do it all for this holiday. From family Easter egg hunts to Sunday school church service. But, what I really like to do is for my husband and I to explain to our children how Jesus was resurrected.

For the next couple of posts, I’ll be diving into Easter. I want to explain what I think Easter means and why it’s so important for our children to learn about.

My children know that God loves them. However, it can be confusing to try to understand why and how Jesus was resurrected at such a young age.

To help my children understand, I do purchase my children an Easter book that explains things to them. I try my best to always educate my children.

Books are amazing. They are made for a reason!

Books help your children learn and now, they even have age labeled books to help out as well. My piece of advice is always have a book that fits your child’s needs.

It truly helps them learn.

What do you put in a children’s Easter basket?

That’s a really good question! I’ve seen SO many different posts online about what the best items are to put into your child’s Easter basket.

I’ve got to say, there are a few key items you SHOULD have in your child’s Easter basket. I’ll have them listed.

One thing I will always have in my children’s Easter baskets is a small book explaining what Easter means. I want my children to know all about God and Jesus’s resurrection.

Another thing, I like to have an item in there that reminds them of how much Jesus loves them. He died on the cross for US.

That’s something worth mentioning to your children. When I think of Easter, I don’t think of just stuffing eggs with candy and a bunny.

My husband and I don’t feel like that’s an important part of Easter. Of course, it’s fun for kids but you can’t just not mention the true meaning of Easter.

So, whatever you put in your child’s Easter basket; make sure there’s something relevant to Jesus. It’s important for children to know about Jesus’s resurrection, God’s love for us, and how Jesus loved us so much, he died for us.

I think a Bible is very important for every child to have. Keep it in a safe place and read it with your child often.

My favorite books of the Bible to read with my kids will always be Psalms and Proverbs. Find your favorite books to read with them!

Why I prefer to make my own Easter baskets vs. ordering them online.

Honestly, I do enjoy making my children’s Easter baskets. You can even make them for family members!

I get my items from Amazon Prime, Target, and Grocery outlet. It’s just fun to shop for them.

When you make the Easter basket, it adds more thought behind it. Ordering a pre-made gift basket doesn’t really fit me.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve purchased them before pre-made at my local Rite Aid many times. Making my own allows me to put whatever I want in them according to that season.

In my opinion, it’s much more fun for me. My children have specific things they like and they know when I’ve put in the effort into creating something for them.

Plus, I’ve gotten them items pre-made before and sometimes they won’t like the character in it! Or they will want a character that’s just not available in store.

Rather than go through all of that, I prefer to make it myself and order what they’d like separately. How do you decorate your child’s Easter basket?
